Comptroller of the Currency Hosts Workshop for New Community Bank Directors in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON—The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency will host a workshop for new national community bank directors at the Westin Embassy Row Hotel in Washington, D.C., April 16-18.

The workshop entitled, "A New Director's Challenge: Mastering the Basics," provides practical information that expands bank directors' skills and understanding of issues facing their banks. It is geared primarily to directors with less than three years of experience. The workshop should be particularly valuable to directors of new national banks, many of whom are also new to the industry. However, longer tenured directors who would like to review the fundamental requirements of their position may also find the workshop useful.

The workshop costs $100 each. Attendees receive a pre-course reading package, course materials, an OCC telephone seminar CD, other appropriate supervisory materials, a continental breakfast and lunch. Workshops are limited to the first 50 registrants and are geared primarily to outside directors of national community banks with assets of less than $1 billion. Management directors may also find the workshop beneficial.
