Acting Comptroller Highlights Regulatory Opportunity and Risk for the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation

LONDON — Acting Comptroller of the Currency John Walsh today discussed the far-reaching changes to regulatory and supervisory standards taking place in response to the financial crisis in a speech for the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation in London.

In his speech, Mr. Walsh stressed the importance of using the recent financial crisis as an opportunity to learn and to improve the business of banking and the practice of regulation.

The Centre was founded in 1993 as a not-for-profit think tank based in London to provide an independent forum where financial practitioners and close observers of the business can share ideas and explore the road ahead. It holds frequent meetings on issues of current interest drawing financial leaders of industry and regulation from around the world.
